Netflix’s thriller, The Whisper Man, weaves a tale of suspense around a father-son duo ensnared in a perilous investigation following a child’s disappearance. The film features Adam Scott as Tom Kennedy, a crime novelist and recent widower, who returns to his hometown with his son, Jake. Their arrival coincides with a string of child disappearances eerily linked to the methods of a famed killer currently behind bars.

Despite these components, the film’s predictability and conventional plot twists hinder its ability to generate genuine suspense. De Niro delivers a subdued performance that occasionally feels disconnected, while Scott faces challenges in convincingly portraying Tom’s internal struggles.

The climactic scenes aim to heighten tension with confrontations and revelations, yet the action lacks excitement, leading to an unsatisfying conclusion.
